Company history
After marrying in 1994, Wilma began signing her fine art pieces using the trademark "WAM." When she got laid off from her full-time position at Silkscreen Products as a result of the sports venues advertising ban on liquor and tobacco ads in the United States, she hung out her shingle as a freelance artist and designer - and WAMdesigns was born.
WAMdesigns' first client was a non-profit organization in Florida named TEAMeffort, Inc. The task was to design a custom full-color process T-shirt for a promotional premium used by the company. This required the creation of an original acrylic painting and the camera-ready artwork and screens to be created for TEAMeffort on a pretty tight deadline. WAMdesigns' design was selected from among six reputable Florida firms who were bidding on the work. And her design was the most expensive of the submissions. But it was also the best!
From 1996 until 1998, Wilma was the artist-in-residence for the Henrietta Wildlife Foundation and Wildlife Ministries. And she exhibited art is several international juried exhibits and well-known galleries around the United States.
Today, Wilma works from her penthouse loft apartment, studio, and office in the emerging art community of downtown Springfield, Missouri. Her clients are spread out around the Western Hemisphere from southern Mexico to New England, and from Hilton Head, South Carolina, to Salt Lake City, Utah.
